Hi - I can only repeat our comments on another thread on this subject -

We would NEVER give/sell your email addresses to a third party without your express permission.

We arranged the Wowcher thingie through a third party, so we don't even have a contact person at Wowcher to sell/give the email addresses to, even if we wanted to - which we don't.

All we can think is that Wowcher, being a new outfit and all, has cunningly bought up huge numbers of lists of email addies from those companies that flog them - and is flooding everyone's inbox that way.

Just seem strange that's all. Call me a cynic and all that.

I've experienced the same. Funny how it's started not long after they appeared on MN.

Not blaming MN, just wondering if wowcher have been less than honest in some way.

I'm thinking the same mildred.

I'm thinking Wowcher did a huge campaign all at once, all over the 'net, and, as Catherine said, have bought emails from...someone or many some ones in order to send the emails.

It's just a coincidence that MN happens to be part of their marketing campaign.

I, personally, have not received an email from them. And I've been on MN for centuries.

Me neither (as far as getting any 'spam') but then again, I 'shield' my mail addresses with the free service of SpamGourmet.com so every site I use has a unique e-mail address and if they ever did get hacked, or sold a mail list database, it would be clear which site might have been compromised.
