but... do you think it might be wise for mnhq to make it so that rape or any similar words can't be used?

So, that would rule out the word grape then. Amongst others.

Is there a particular name that's worrying you? If so, I think you should say so.

Also someone might be a fan if rapeseed.

NotADragonOfSoup · 05/03/2013 18:05

:)

MNHQ have, in the past, asked posters to change a name they feel is totally inappropriate. Of course, this only results in the poster in question complaining in a thread and rallying support to be allowed to keep it.

NotADragonOfSoup · 05/03/2013 18:06

Trapeze artists would be annoyed too.

TheNebulousBoojum · 05/03/2013 18:07

Probably just better to hit report and complain about a name you find offensive.
Says the poster who lives in Sussex and found an over-aggressive filter made life tricky on one site.

JulieMumsnet · 05/03/2013 18:22

Names are tricky, but if you do spot one that's particularly offensive, please give us a shout. Smile

HairyHandedTrucker · 05/03/2013 18:29

there have been several dodgy usernames as of late so thought it might be easier for mnhq to individually set up the odd trapezey username then go through and have to delete the names that have been created just to be abusive. but I can see why it might be hard for them
