Clearly I'm an idiot...

Please could someone point me towards the idiot's guide to MN: I can't read profiles; I can't find threads I've posted on (can one tell if they have been deleted?); I can't find out if the thread I'm looking at is a duplicate of one by the same person from the previous week. I know that some people allude to poster's previous threads so there must be a way to find them but I don't seem to be able to work any of this out for myself!

Profiles: click on user name. If they have one, that's how you get there.

Threads I'm On: link of same name up there ^

People use advance search, up ^ there and to the right, to find old posts people have made.
