Is it time to remove the _ before chat?

I know it not a biggie, but when browsing unanswered messages or going into Fun and Games on my phone, having _chat at the bottom, when its my favourite topic is a bit of a PITA.

Is it time to remove the _ and make it like any other topic?

It's to do with threads on chat disappearing after 90 days or some such. possibly

DayToDayShit · 11/02/2013 13:52

never even noticed, but now I get your drift!

I think a friend of a friend of a friend said it was so it appeared at the end so people would post elsewhere first, as not everyone wanted a chat topic when it was first introduced. Can't find it on Snopes though. Grin

I have no idea if that's the case. If it is, then the moment has passed as I reckon its second only to AIBU for use and traffic.

Yes the _ stems from a time when the idea of a Chat topic had folks clutching their pearls in fright at very thought.

From what I remember, the _ was added so Chat didn't appear at the top of the Topics list, entice people away from other topics and generally lower the tone.

We prob should get rid but it is a little bit of MN history, really...

Please get rid of it, that would be ace.
