mystery of the missing emoticons??

posts are full of odd gaps where icons should be...where have they gone?? a parallel MN universe, or - horrors - is MN making way for jumpy ticker-type icons?? any idea..?

they come up more slowly than text because they're images - maybe your connection/PC is running a bit slowly and they're not loading with the rest of the page
