is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly which may make your computer to go unresponsive.
It then gives me the option to go yes or no to stop running the script and till now I have just ticked no and carried on without penalty but very slow.
I am using Internet Explorer 8.
Mumsnet had been slow for a while and it still is, but this warning is something new.

Hmm. Thanks for letting us know. We'll take a look.

Dutchoma · 16/01/2013 16:28

I've just discovered that if you click 'yes' it just carries on. If you click 'no' it takes its time.

I'm getting this message too. I'm using IE8.

I'm also only able to get MN in a horrible plain text only format which makes reading rather difficult. The log in page is okay but the rest of the site is plain text.

I've tried in Googe Chrome and same problem, so I think it's my connection. I'm fine on a different laptop running IE9 - go figure Smile

no probs with firefox.

usualsuspect · 16/01/2013 16:33

Switch to firefox OP, although MN has been running slowly for the last few nights.

Dutchoma · 16/01/2013 16:34

How do you do that? Switch to Firefox? Blush

firefox download

Monty27 · 16/01/2013 16:54

I'm getting it too, I'm clicking yes and it seems to go a bit better, albeit briefly, it's soooo slow

Dutchoma · 16/01/2013 16:57

I did the Firefox download and now I can't find a thing. If i'm going to close the computer and load it again, will all my Internet Explorer, favourites etc be gone?

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 16/01/2013 16:58

No your internet explorer will still be there.

Dutchoma · 16/01/2013 17:27

Still getting used to having two internet browsers, but MN does seem to load a lot quicker.

You can have your favourites across the top , just drag and drop them there.

Dutchoma · 17/01/2013 10:44

Firefox is making a massive difference to the speed of Mumsnet. Thanks usualsuspect. (Your name made my (poorly) dh laugh as he likes to watch that programme with the 'usual suspects')
