So why DOES MN keep going offline?

It's a long term problem, isn't it?

Is it the server?

Is it going to continue to happen or is there a plan to sort it?

We just went off line deliberately a couple of times to try sort a problem that some people are having on mobile devices. When we do updates we have to shut down and restart the service. Normally I'm in the USA and can do updates at 3am. But at the moment I'm in London.

Longer term, yes we will have extra servers we can fail over to if we need to do an update on one of them. But we might still have occasional offline moments if there are major changes to make. We do try to keep these to a minimum. Sorry if it's a pain.

Good question, this really annoys me I had typed out a post went to post and it went offline.

MammaTJ · 24/12/2012 05:01

InNeed, I have learnt my lesson there. If I have a long post, I copy it before I press post. That way, if it goes offline, I have it ready to paste when it comes back on.

That is a really good idea mama!

Grin I do that too, mama.

Site goes down loads. Not just 3am. It's several times a day for a minute or so.

I thought it was a device sign to remind me to do something else with my life
