Living overseas......!!!!

The addition of Home Decoration to the Homes and Garden section has bumped Living Overseas off the list as a reader checks in. It's subsumed in the ...... bit.

Any new reader would hardly automatically check out Homes and Gardens anyway as being the natural home of those overseas, but its placing in the list up until a couple of days ago meant it had some prominence.

It's the ONLY forum dedicated to MNers abroad, so can we have it re-placed on the list, MNHQ?

I second this motion! Living overseas is an entirely different sort of category of being than home decoration or moving IMO. It's more fundamental. I mean, I care about what colour to paint my (american!) living room and about (american!), schools and about where to shop (in america!), but my queries are so niche - I was amazed and delighted to post in S+B and get loads of relevant (even to the city I am in), suggestions which just wouldn't've happened had I posted to a low traffic area people had to dig to find.

I don't know if it needs its own topic but it should be more prominently displayed.

I support you.

imo Full Talk topics list, needs a good tech tidy up. Swine Flu stands out like a sore thumb
Probably a lot of work for them I guess.

Agree. Living overseas was so important and helpful when we lived abroad.

Just wanted to pop in and say we hear you - and will take a look at what we can do about bumping it back up.

HelenMumsnet · 01/12/2012 19:43

Yep. Apols for this.

The whole Topics list needs a good shake-up and pruning and going over. When we do this, we'll do our level best to make sure Living Overseas is as visible as possible.

As you point out, echt, Homes and Gardens isn't exactly the most obvious place to look for Living Overseas. We'll def have a think about a more logical (and prominent) place to put it.

Please bear with us, though. Redoing the Topics list is a mahoosive Tech job and the Tech team already hate me for it
