I have a little question about reporting.

I don't do it very often but when I do, I'm often stumped about what to say in the 'your comment' box.

I mean do you, MNHQ, expect to hear what I think of the post or the poster or just a one or two word comment about which category of talk guidelines it's breaking, like "personal attack", "disablist" or "thread about thread"

or do you like something a bit more flowery like "this poster is being a twat" ?

or can I just leave it blank and let you decide?

What do others put down in that box then?

I leave it blank usually, unless I am in such a rage about whatever it is to start a rant. Doesn't happen much!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/10/2012 15:55

I usually leave it blank unless it requires further information not actually in that post eg spamming across multiple boards, inconsistencies between posts, patterns between posts etc

I usually report a PA As a PA

reporting disablist posts is a waste of time......
they are just left now

ZombTEE · 09/10/2012 16:26

I tell them why I am reporting the post.

So 'Advert alert!' or 'Possible troll'

I also like to slip them a Grin to cheer them up, even though someone at HQ told me they don't actually work.

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 09/10/2012 16:30

Oh no, I ve written essays trying to make mnhq understand why I was reporting a fred/poster/thingy before. I feel a fool Sad

Poledra · 09/10/2012 16:45

I put a little explanation. The last one I reported, I wrote 'This looks like advertising to me. And for a right pile o' shite as well, IMHO.' MNHQ haven't replied to it Sad

OhChristFENTON · 09/10/2012 19:31

Oh, I love that poem, Beer, I might have to steal it Grin

I will have to think of a witty ditty next time I report. Much nicer for MNHQ to read than "OMG what an arse, - LoL"

I NEVER say Lol though

I have put-

'Weird'
'Bizarre'
'This is going a bit pear shaped'

DameFannyGallopsAtaGhost · 09/10/2012 19:52

I've reported ads with just a 'tut tut tut', which seemed to tickle them

sittinginthesun · 09/10/2012 19:54

Depends on what time of day it is. I reported a couple at the weekend, and just suggested that whoever had the evening shift got the gin ready.

Pascha · 09/10/2012 20:05

Oh god! I have actually written 'what a twat' before. More than once Blush
