Do you have to give a reason in the wee box or should you just leave it empty and hit report?

I would imagine MN need a clue of why you are reporting it?

Ilovedaintynuts · 02/10/2012 06:49

I guess it depends? If someone says they are gong to hunt you down and kill you slowly and they know where you live, I would suggest no message is necessary. Otherwise it might help to give a clue.

Mydogsleepsonthebed · 02/10/2012 06:50

I don't know. That's why I'm asking. And if you report one post and there's more posts that you think are beyond the pale do you have to report them too or will ha be watching the thread ?

I think once you have reported the thread will be monitored so no need to report again. Just report the first offensive post and put in the box why you are reporting. You will then get a reply by e-mail from MNHQ.

Ilovedaintynuts · 02/10/2012 06:53

Just report one post and explain your problems with the thread. Don't report every post, once they have seen your post they will have seen the thread. That's what I would do any way.

Mydog I think it's ok to report more than one post on a thread, it will help them get to the thread quicker and I don't think they'd keep that close an eye after one deletion.

Morning.

It really does help, actually, if you fill in the comments box with the reason why you're reporting a post.

There is no need to multiple-report from one thread, though - if it's the whole thread you want us to look at. Just say in the comments box that it's not the post you're reporting but the whole thread or a succession of posts on the thread that are similar.

The only exception to this might be a long-running thread, where, the next day, there are new posts you'd like to draw to our attention.
