Flipping messages in the App

Why is it that when I flip messages in the App (in the absence of bookmarking STILL whinge moan whinge), sometimes it will flip the whole thread for me (which is GOOD) and sometimes it will only flip the first page.

It seems to be totally random which it chooses to do, too. Sometimes it will flip the whole thread even if it has 230 messages, sometimes not, and sometimes it will flip just the first page even if there's only 87 messages.

It's getting a bit irksome now, especially on a thread with 100+ messages, when I just want to see the most recent posts.

Is there any rhyme or reason as to when it will only flip the first page and when it will flip the whole thread, or does the App just have a mind of its own?!

Do you have to have pages in the App?

I just use the moblie site without pages.

But I likes my pages! And if I change it in the App, it changes it on my laptop too. Cos I always forget to put my settings back when I switch off for the night!

I dunno then , I never use pages

And is it meant to turn the thread upside down when I post? I don't mean upside down writing, I mean change it to newest post at the top of the page rather than the bottom?

It's annoying, but not quite annoying enough to make me fire up my laptop every time I want to MN...

I just flip the whole thread.

(It probably doesn't help that when I first found MN, there was only classic, and I kind of got used to that...I do have custom settings now, but only the bits I like!)

And is there any way to change the colours of your own posts on the App? Or any plans for that? It makes finding your last post on a thread much harder by NOT having either that option or bookmarking. Lazy arse.

Hello. And that's odd, CouthyMow: flipping the discussion should flip the whole thing, not just the first page. We'll look into that.

And no, we're afraid you can't colour OPs etc on the App version - but we'll def put that one in the mix for the next release. Thanks for suggesting it.

It seems to pick and choose when it flips the first page or the whole thread, with no rhyme or reason.

The colours for OP etc would be good, but bookmarking would be even better.

Please make it so that if you flip the order of messages in the App it doesn't change it for when you use the main site.

It does exactly the same for me, drives me mad .
