Sorry if there is already a thread about this but didn't notice the problem yesterday.
Every thread I read today has certain words highlighted and double underlined in orange (hyperlinks) and if you hover they show adverts from "in line".
Anyone else got this? Is this intentional? Why? Why?

I think it's a bug/virus/something you've downloaded along with something else. I had it, removed the thing I'd downloaded the day before and it went.

This happened a while back. Have a search thru site stuff, I can't remember if it's a prob with the browser you are using or a prob from MN iyswim

Hello. We're afraid that this is likely to be a problem at your end, rather than ours.

You probably need to do a virus check. Sad

Thanks - am on work PC so a bit Hmm that their anti-virus wouldn't have prevented this, but will see if I can do a sweep.
Glad Mumsnet hasn't gone ad mad Smile

I had this a while ago. It's (I think this is right) a cookie of some sort. I clicked through to the advertising company's home page and there was an "unsubscribe" type thing that made it go away. Very annoying Angry.
