I'm sure this has been done but - Hiding Topics

Can someone tell me how to hide a whole topic? I know how to hide individual threads, but when I click Active, I'd like to limit the topics that appear iyswim

I don't use active i use talk why can't i hide the topics i'm not interested in? I would like a favourites list of topics.
