How do I make a thread unsearchable?

I have a thread I don't want somebody to find. I namechanged for it. Is pressing 'hide' enough do you think?

Do you mean when you are logged on or generally over the internet?

BlackOutTheSun · 13/07/2012 21:06

If you hide it then only you won't be able to see it

You can ask for it to be deleted or moved to OTBT

TheLaineyWayIsEssex · 13/07/2012 21:07

I am pretty sure that if you put it in "off the beaten track" it won't be searchable.

X post with blackOut

MotionOfTheOcean · 13/07/2012 21:08

Doesnt it have to be in off the beaten track.Pressing hide will only hide it from you not everybody else.If you concened about something you have posted, report your post and ask MN to delete it.

nureyev · 13/07/2012 21:11

Thanks. So I just message MNHQ and ask them to delete it?

Go on the thread and click report on your op, that's probably quickest.

nureyev · 13/07/2012 21:33

Have done. Thanks.

So, how will I know if they have deleted it?

Sorry. I meant, if I hide it now how will I know they have deleted it?

OP posts:
BonkeyMollocks · 13/07/2012 21:33

It will disappear and you will get a Email saying it has been deleted.

nureyev · 13/07/2012 21:45

Thanks.

You have to start a thread in OTBT for it to remain unsearchable
We can move threads to keep them out of active but it will still be there for its duration
Thanks
