Now, I admit to being a big fan of bleach, but I try not to get it near the computers. They don't mix well very well and sparks can ensue.

UnChartered · 11/07/2012 17:52

there'll be sparks if i can't have my full technicoloured MN experience

Tech · 11/07/2012 17:54

Is it that you have turned off scripts in your browser maybe? Sounds like they might not be running. Could you try out www.mumsnet.com/tech-diagnostic-page and hit the send report button. Then we can advise further on resolving your problem in good time and giving you great customer service today (to be read in style of support-call-centre-script person.)

UnChartered · 11/07/2012 18:11

ok, have pressed that button thingy Blush

is this call being recorded for training purposes Grin

In America, when you ring some big firm (can't remember which) they say "And how can I exceed your expectations today?" which, if you're a slightly sour cynical Brit, gets things off to a very bad start indeed.

To get back to the point, it looks like javascript is indeed turned off in your browser. Could someone have done that maybe? Maybe installed a toolbar that's done it? Noscript addon or something like that? Does any of that ring a bell?

You could try googling "how to enable javascript" for some tips on how to turn it back on.

UnChartered · 11/07/2012 18:23

i've got a bit of sick in my mouth at that Grin

but, i agree - back to the point in hand...when i read that about scripts and toolbars i heard a noise go off in my head not unlike that noise Jim Carrey makes in 'Dumb and Dumber' when they ask what's the most annoying noise in the world Blush

i ain't turned nuffin off, i can barely turn this bloody thing on Grin

i'll ask DS2 my own tech when he gets home from work

Thanks

(i bet they'll be black and white too)
