Would be jeffin' marvellous if we could change theme to a dark background for night feeds....

...wouldn't it?

I love that idea! Not doing night feeds anymore, but use phone when I can't sleep in the night. I read ebooks from our library service too, and that software has a night option. V useful!

Subarashii · 10/07/2012 08:06

That would be amazing! Great idea.

Stannwigg · 10/07/2012 08:15

Actually mine are too, but I couldn't face typing any other scenarios on this ridiculous phone!

I think its quite a common feature on many sites though - would be really useful.

My iPad saved my life when DS was tiny, although it did sometimes wake him up. And now number 2 is on the way... Eek! I'd love a night theme.

RowanMumsnet · 10/07/2012 13:16

Hi there

Thanks for this suggestion - it sounds lovely.

Tech does have a to-do list that is slightly longer than the Great Wall of China at the moment, so in all honesty this is unlikely to happen any time soon, but we will note it and have a think.

OvO · 10/07/2012 13:24

On iPad if you triple press the home button it inverts all the colours so MN is ona black background.

tbh it's not great and something proper from MN would be great, but it might help in the meanwhile if you are trying to not have the glare wake a sleeping baby.

Subarashii · 10/07/2012 13:51

That doesn't seem to work on my stone age iPad 1 unfortunately, OvO...

Pascha · 10/07/2012 13:57

Oh yes, on the iphone I used to turn the brightness right down but a button to reverse the screen like on Sky News app would be great.

Subarashii · 10/07/2012 14:00

Ok, I've worked out how to do it via settings, thanks for the tip OvO.

It looks fairly odd though so I think a proper theme would be much nicer to use!

savoycabbage · 10/07/2012 14:04

I use the iPad as a torch to navigate my way up the stairs as the bulb went two years ago and is completely unreachable. I would break my neck or worse, have to come off MN.

EdithWeston · 10/07/2012 14:10

If the triple click doesn't work, you can change it on an iPad via Settings > General > Accessibility > White on Black (on/off)

EdithWeston · 10/07/2012 14:12

Sorry Subarashii - distracted for a while, so my last crossed with yours saying you'd worked it out.

Stannwigg · 10/07/2012 20:07

Bless you HQ for thinking about it!

Wow I had no idea you could invert all the colours though! Ha! It is a bit trippy..

savoy - there's some really decent torch apps, I too would break my neck without. In fact, I'm not sure I own a proper torch anymore.

With night time only emoticons like [matchsticks on eyes] and [yawn]

Jux · 10/07/2012 20:21

But when it's night here it's day in Oz!

Tech'll have to come up with themed 'skins' which you get to choose in account settings or something.

Jux · 10/07/2012 20:31

Not to mention time zones, which was what I meant to say Blush. Grin
