Can I sell our 2 spare Olympics Tickets on MN

Hi MNHQ

Would I be allowed to offer the two spare Olympics tickets (Athletics) I have for sale on the site or would that be breaking a gazillion rules?

We were lucky enough to buy tickets for all our family hem in the first round ballot, but now my parents have decided that it's too far for them to travel. Fair enough. I don't want to give them away as I've already paid for them, and I don't want to ebay them as - well - I haven't sold anything on ebay before. But I trust MNers. They're good tickets and it would be a shame to let them go to waste.

Can I? Huh? Huh? Please? Pretty please?

"Tickets are strictly non-transferable and must not be sold or advertised for sale on the internet, in newspapers or anywhere else other than via the official London 2012 ticket resale programme."

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor · 04/07/2012 17:48

I thought you could 'transfer' them to friends or family as long as they weren't sold for more than face value?

(Tell me when they're for I'm desperate for a pair of tickets! Wink)

We're all friends hereWink

You could PM those interested with the date/time/cost? I'm interestedSmile

culturemulcher · 04/07/2012 17:50

Yes, It'sAllGoingToBeFine but I distinctly remember Lord Coe being interviewed on The Today Programme and saying that tickets weren't named and people could sell them to friends if they weren't using them.

And we're all friends on MN, right? Smile

Given that everyone had to buy tickets over a year ago, it's inevitable that some people will realise that they aren't available on the day they'd hoped to be attending.

We will double-check but we're pretty sure it's a no, culturemulcher.

You may, however, pass your tickets on to friends or family for no charge.

culturemulcher · 04/07/2012 18:01

Thanks for double-checking HelenMumsnet, that's kind.

I have 5 tickets for men's football semi finals at wembley 7th august. Cost me £150. I can not go and do not want to throw the tickets away. Have tried reselling on the london 2012 site but can not get into the site as too busy and message says 'processing please wait' but has said that for days now. Have phoned customer services london 2012 and finally got to speak to them and they say that you can pass them to family or friends and negotiate a price for them. They just don't want them being listed on the likes of ebay etc with people making huge profits. I would be happy to pass these on to friends here and just get a bit back for them. Anyone interested?
