Why does MN keep in going off?!

It keeps on going blank on my phone every couple of minutes. I'm sitting by the router FGS so not in the middle of the Gobi desert. Fix it, pretty please.

Hello. It's alright from here

Is it still happening to you?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 17/06/2012 18:52

Today's fine...

Maybe it just doesn't like me.

One more question, what causes Mumsnet not being available online (on a comp) when it says 'the server couldn't be find'. It looks as if the website doesn't exist.

Hello

I think 'the server could not be found' is often a symptom of your individual connection going down - does that sound like a possible explanation?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 18/06/2012 12:25

My fault then . Although it mainly happens with MN, very rarely other sites.

Today it says that Mumsnet server takes to long to respond and it might be due to the server being offline or something else I forgot.

I've been getting that erratically all morning too, although Daily Fail site other informative sites are loading ok

stoatie · 18/06/2012 12:38

Been offline more than on this morning Sad

tattychicken · 18/06/2012 12:40

Me too. Constantly crashing.

Merrylegs · 18/06/2012 12:42

It is true that MN is the only site I use that regularly goes offline. Usually it is the 'we're not down the pub' message. Today it has been 'tech problem' and 'server unknown'. I am interested in why it is down so often? Do you notice it from your end?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/06/2012 12:42

going offline all the time for me too

..and server could not be found earlier either, on phone or at home

FormerlyTitledUntidy · 18/06/2012 12:43

I couldn't connect for AGES
And now it keep crashing :(
Where is tech when you need him?!

WandaDoff · 18/06/2012 12:44

Me too.

Please fix it.

Sandalwood · 18/06/2012 12:46

It's been the same for me too.
Then I get back on and in the meantime there's been posting so it can't be everyone.

AbsofAwesomeness · 18/06/2012 12:47

Me too - MN was out all morning.

I had to WORK people.

Think of the children! (or my co workers, I'm not in damaging distance of children)

HappySunflower · 18/06/2012 12:48

Keeps going offline here- it's been like it all morning.

The search function does not appear to be working properly, either.

Vagazzled · 18/06/2012 12:48

It's taken me 2 hours to get on via my phone!

WorraLiberty · 18/06/2012 12:49

Explanation here...not that I understood it!

MissBlennerhassett · 18/06/2012 12:50

Yes, mn is always crashing for me too, this hardly happens with other sites.

Bunbaker · 18/06/2012 12:52

Same here. All my other tabs that were open have been fine so it is definitely not my server. I couldn't even log in a few minutes ago.

HelenMumsnet · 18/06/2012 13:56

Hello folks. So sorry about the outtage this morning - should all be up and running again.

We know there's still a problem (with posting messages) for those of you using mobiles but we're on the case with that right now.

EldritchCleavage · 18/06/2012 14:03

Not impressed, MN. I actually had to do some work!
You've let the internet down, you've let us down, but most of all, you've let yourselves down.

HelenMumsnet · 18/06/2012 14:06

We're really, truly, properly sorry. Honest.

Can we come off the Naughty Step now?

jaggythistle · 18/06/2012 14:09

i had errors when i was on the PC as well as the phone today. the pub one, the tech error and the above mentioned site not found.

i get palpitations when Mumsnet disappears for that long! Grin

HelenMumsnet · 18/06/2012 14:11

So do we, jaggythistle, so do we!
