Musing on MN nicknames, can anyone help?

RandomNumbers · 10/06/2012 10:12

IIRC, the ability to use three letters* in a MN username stopped yonks ago; if you had a three letter or fewer username already then that was fine but further and future namechanges or new registrations had to use four or more letters.

When was that, can anyone rememember? Or I am misremembering and the three letter username facility remains. [ponders]

*like UCM for eg

DZH only became DZH a few months ago. His previous nn had more letters but he had no problem changing it.

MYE · 10/06/2012 11:41

It let me.

Tbf I got bored of trying to find an actual 3 letter word that wasn't in use, so ended up going random.

IamtheZombie · 10/06/2012 12:02

So now you're RandomLetters instead of RandomNumbers. Grin

GobblersKnob · 10/06/2012 12:58

No, MYE was me, not RandomNumbersGrin That wasn't very clear was it.

I was just trying it out to see if it would work.

RandomNumbers · 10/06/2012 13:28

Cool thanks guys, you rock

What made you think that people weren't allowed 3-letter names?

RandomNumbers · 10/06/2012 13:52

I think it was round the time of the NN auction yonks ago. Praps it was two letter names I am thinking of.

Not that it is relevant or even interesting. God I am boring even myself.

Grin

You are not allowed to talk about the NN auction. It still makes me and tech shudder at the memory.
In answer to the OP. erm, I dunno.

I have a 2 letter nickname that I got just last year and this 3 letter one at the same time I think.

So that leaves us with one letter nicknames. Grin Were they ever allowed?

You can still have a duo, see^, singles are not allowed.

Nn must be between 2 and 30 characters says the rules.

ii · 11/06/2012 18:41

I've got this one, but I don't use it. I think I was on a thread where we were competing trying to find the shortest NN.

Slubberdegullion · 11/06/2012 18:43

Gawd RandomNumbers you dullard. Are you ever going to go back to your proper name mrs? So we can see your giant tiramisu on your profile.

GobblersKnob · 11/06/2012 18:46

Haven't seen you for aaaaaaagesGrin

Slubberdegullion · 11/06/2012 18:50

Oh helllooooooooooooo. Was wondering where you were. How is ds's nose? Was thinking about it/him the other day hoping both were OK.

Used the forge steel this week gone and reminisced fondly about that thread.
