Pregnancy v antenatal clubs

Any chance of this being policed, like it used to be?

There is little as dull as chat about pregnancies at a different timing to yours. That is why there is are antenatal clubs, so they can be hidden.

But these chat threads are now appearing in the Pregnancy forum with increasing frequency, and MNHQ have told those who reported to ask for moves that you are now letting posters choose where they go.

I just wanted to check if that were true, before I hide Pregnancy in exasperation (a topic on which I would want to post to be helpful, but not at the price of so many "antenatal club" threads cluttering it up).

Hi meditrina, we'll happily move a thread to the most relevant topic, once it has been brought to our attention. We don't 'police' topics, or threads, as we are post-moderated and rely on our members to flag threads/posts to us.

Anyone is welcome to post in whatever topic they like of course, but if you report a thread and we feel it's more suited to another topic, we'll move it.:)

Have to say when I first joined the site I went straight to pregnancy and would never have found antenatal clubs Confused

You can always try just not reading them can't you? Not being funny but the ones I've spotted are fairly well titled and totally obvious hence I avoid anything saying 'Due Feb 2013' etc! Likewise there are lots of other titles in pregnancy thread that aren't relevant to me and I ignore them too :)

meditrina · 19/06/2012 06:18

I've reported before, and told that the thread would not be moved.

Angelico: the ones that are problematic are not the BFP ones, where everyone finds each other, then moves to chat in the normal (hideable) place.

It's the ones that are several hundred posts long, and the ones that are on their fifth part with months left to go that seem to be in the wrong place.

MNHQ - I'll use the report function to draw you attention to some examples of the ones I mean, and see really are minded to move them.

FFS just hide the threads that don't interest you. It isn't hard,

McKayz · 19/06/2012 06:24

They really are very easy to spot. Due in August part 5 for example is obviously for people expecting in August. Just don't click on it.

Angelico · 19/06/2012 11:04

Agreed McKayz and Tee. Unfortunately this kind of thing obviously keeps some people up at night...

And for what it's worth I don't think MN is 'all about MEEEEEEEEEEE'!!! I don't ask people to move threads I'm not interested in, I just... ... don't read them.
