Can't refresh on the mobile site?

Is this because I'm stupid and don't know how, or because there is no "refresh" button? And if there is no refresh button, why not? Thanks muchly!

press 'last' that's what I do.

LoveBox · 21/04/2012 20:40

Right. Except I have no idea what you are on about. Where is 'last'?!

OP posts:
Nagoo · 21/04/2012 20:41

previous, last, you know.

LoveBox · 21/04/2012 20:49

Oh right, like the "back" button? Yes, except if I'm on a long thread, then press back, then have to re-click the thread an scroll alllllll the way down again. It's a lot of work for my chubby little fingers. A 'refresh' button would be much easier

Is it the app of which you speak LoveBox?

sleeplessindenial · 21/04/2012 21:40

I would like to find the refresh button too Smile (mn app) and also is there a way to read pms?

And if I flip the thread and scroll down if I have to press more then once I've got to wear I want I can't read back up to the top iyswim. Is there a way to go back to my last post or something?

Nagoo · 21/04/2012 21:47

OOOOOOHHHHH I gave up using the app because it was shit.

No offence Wink

I forgot, I just linked Active Convos to my homepage. Muuuuuccchhh better :)

Nagoo · 21/04/2012 21:47

You can't read PMs either.

Nagoo · 21/04/2012 21:48

The mobile site is vair good, the app rubbish.

Soz rebecca :)

LoveBox · 21/04/2012 22:36

Not the app, it's the mobile site I can't find a way to refresh. Can't get to grips with the app because I am an old gimmer.

so, at the bottom of the page you should have the bookmark after each post?

and 'first prev next last' at the top and bottom in a purple bar on each page?

RebeccaMumsnet · 21/04/2012 23:19

No offence taken re the app, we are working on it.

Ok, here is how I do it.

  1. Go to Customise and scroll down to Other options

  2. Change the top one Reading Direction to Messages read down page like a book

  3. Change the next one Messages per Page to Unlimited

  4. Optional, scroll up and chose a colour for your own posts and those of the OP to make them stand out.

  5. Click save

  6. log into the mob site and pick a thread to read. When you are ready to refresh...

  7. Use the refresh button on your browser bar (non technical name). Click the Circular arrow to the left or right (depending on what browser you use) on the place where you type 'www.mumsnet.com'

I hope that this makes sense. There are other ways but this is the way I use MN from my phone and I find it much easier, especially on a longer thread.

hth, if not, do come back and we can come up with some other suggestions.

Nagoo · 21/04/2012 23:25

I find it easier to have 'pages' cause I don't know if my phone has a browser bar [luddite]

You'll need to enable bookmarks from the customise screen too :)

RebeccaMumsnet · 21/04/2012 23:28

Do you have an iPhone Nagoo ?

Nagoo · 21/04/2012 23:43

Yup. Is that different?

LoveBox · 22/04/2012 20:16

Oh Rebecca, you are luffly and clever, that works great and I am now having lots of fun refreshing the page whilst reading all the bitching about contestants informed musical opinions on the "voice" thread! Ta muchly!
