Could the 'MN local' section cover counties rather than towns?

I've been thinking about this for a while. I've posted a few things in MN local, but there have been v. few replies, which seems quite typical for MN Local. I don't know if it's because people don't feel comfortable saying that they live in a certain town, or because there are hardly any MNetters in that place.

So would it be better to have county sections rather than towns? The 'traffic' might be higher because of there being more MNettes so the sections would be more interesting, and people might be happier to say what county they are in than what town. It'd be good to see it being used a bit more, tbh. (Maybe I just live in a really unpopular place! Maybe other MN Locals are rockin'...)

What think you, O MN?

Hi HolofernesesHead,

Thanks for your post.
We are currently looking at local and the best ways to improve it, so all feedback is welcome.

Does anyone else have anything to add?

This is quite a good idea I think, although I am close to a county boundary and have far more links with the nearest big town which is across the boundary than I do with most of my own county. I would just associate with both though. I'm quite happy for MNers to know which county I'm in but not which town. At the moment none of the existing areas really covers my town as it's fairly rural.

I think outing oneself is a major barrier to the use of the MN local boards TBH.
