Floating purple bar

I'm sure that's not what it's actually called, it's the floating bar that appears as soon as you start scrolling down and has a few shortcuts like "I'm on" etc. I accidentally clicked on the "x" and it went poof, of course.

How can I make it come back? I liked it, it was quite useful and I miss it now

oh I have that - it only has active and i'm on on it though. I find mine rather irritating and want it to go!

Beattie, I also found it annoying but now that it's gone I realise it was a quick way to go back to "threads I'm on" without having to scroll back up.

Go into customise and make sure that

"Hide the viewport bar" is set at No.

it's set at "no" but the bar is still gone.

Log out then log in again?

Don't, Destrier, don't! You'll only appreciate its use once it's gone

Destrier, if you go to customise and look for Hide Viewport, you can turn it on/off (make sure ou click save)

Gauchita, try the above, just to make sure you haven't inadvertently clicked it...

Right, sorry Rebecca but I fear there is an Actual Bug

Got nosey and hid the viewport (using the cross at the top right). Next thread I opened it was there, no problem. Hid it again and it didn't come back, so:

To customise "Hide the viewport bar" is set to 'No'.
Set "Hide the viewport bar" to 'yes' and saved, thinking that would solve the anomaly.
Set "Hide the viewport bar" to 'No' and saved.
Viewport not visible on threads.

Logged out and back in again.
Viewport not visible on threads.
"Hide the viewport bar" showing as set to 'No'.
Viewport not visible on threads.

Restarted browser
Viewport not visible on threads
"Hide the viewport bar" showing as set to 'YES'.
Set to 'No' and saved.
Viewport visible on threads.

Hope that's of some use...

Rebecca, I think Hetty might be right... I tried what you said, logged out and in again and nothing. Sorry to be a pain, btw.

Try restarting your browser then checking if "Hide the viewport bar" is showing as set to 'No'. Solved it for me.

Hetty, no, nothing, nada I restarted the browser, had a look at the settings again, it was still set to "no", logged out and in again but nothing... no bar. Glad you got yours back, though!
