Part searchable on NN's?

Hi MNHQ Techs

Would there be any way possible of having a search facility so that we the more goldfish minded of us could search for a poster using just part of their user name?

For example.. MNer A suddenly remembers that MNer B gave sterling advice but can only remember that she had Val in her NN, but can't remember her full NN.

Could there be a search function that allowed for a part NN search?

Do you know, I have NO IDEA

But we will have a think about it tomorrow if that's OK?

it already brings up alternative spellings, if I search lissie, I get Lissy and Lizzy.

Ha! That would mean Chaos would never find me...seeing as she calls me carzynanna!

I've never been able to find anything other than utterly correct spellings through search...so for example, if you search Valpolicella (as opposed to Valpollicella - note the two dif spellings) you will not be able to find my posts. Only replies where posters have misspelled my name

Spike are you R? I see your point though actually. Especially when people change a 'o' to a '0' in their NN and the are still them iyswim

That would make all my Reality names searchable and ruin the whole illusion of anonymity.

I hadn't thought it through really...

You can already if you know the start and then just put a star after it. E.g. trix* shows up all posts by posters beginning with trix. Don't think you can do it with bits in the middle of Nama though.

Nama= names stupid iPad!
