How do I get rid of the "Mumsnet Local" posts that stick to the top of Active Conversations?

I've looked at the MN Local page and it won't let me delete the area from me list - it says to click the - sign to remove an area but there isn't a - sign. I don't have a postcode in my profile either.

SoupDragon, Please go to 'customise' then find the final paragraph on the page with a blue heading 'ignore topics in Active Conversation'. Click on the 'here' button. Scroll down to 'Topic Exclusion' and find Mumsnet Local- Croydon and move over into 'Excluded box'. Don't forget to save!
You may need a cuppa and a biscuit after that!Smile

Thanks

But why can't I remove Croydon from my areas in MN Local? Won't I still be left with the Local rubbish in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Hi Soup,

You should have a small no entry symbol to the right of the place name in Edit local. When you click on this it removes that local from your list.

It the symbol not there for you? What browser are you using and do you want us to edit out the place name out Blush ?

SoupDragon · 10/01/2012 15:24

I was expecting a no entry sign but no, there isn't one. Apparently I'm using Safari 5.1.1 on a Macbook Air.

Obviously its not a major problem really, I an after all just ignore it. It's more that it tells me I should be able to delete it but I can't. Which irritates me. I"m easily irritated though.

Or, I could go and log onto the Windows PC and see if the no entry sign is there, obviously.

Let us know how you get on and if we can help?

Would you like us to remove the mentions of your specific local?

SoupDragon · 10/01/2012 17:32

There is no No ENtry sign when I look using Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Hello, sorry about this. We'll fix it overnight.

Ah, so it wasn't me being an idiot? :o

Great, thanks for asking Soupdragon. Every now and again, threads from my MN Local bombard the top of active convos. I've always wanted to know how to get rid of them.

Tech · 10/01/2012 20:24

Hi Soupdragon, no it's not you, there's a fault. It seems to be difficult / impossible to get out of your "last" local site.

Well, you said 'no rush', you see. We took you literally...

I will see what Tech can do

SoupDragon · 02/02/2012 07:18

Well, yes and I'm not actually bothered. I just wondered if it had been forgotten :)
