describing your family on MN

Feeling fairly stupid to ask this question and didn't really know where to post it but here goes...

How do you describe your family in MN, ie If you have say, 4 children, a boy, a girl, a girl and a boy. Do you go, DS1 DD2 DD3 DS4 ? or DS1 DD1 DD2 and DS2?

Sorry for being so thick but am fairly new here!

Right so let me get this right then. If I have 3 children, boy girl boy it should be DS1 DD1 DS2 Is that right?!
