That's why chat is so interesting- because people know that there is a 99.99999% chance of it being wiped, unless they get accepted into classics, and feel less inhibited.

I wonder if people really think about whether their threads will be around forever or not when they post them?

I tend to post a thread in Chat just because I am just looking to chat and shoot the breeze about nonsense. I wouldn't mind if it stayed on Mumsnet for all eternity. Certainly AIBU seems to be about 10,000 times more inane than Chat.

Plenty of people will post embarrassing stuff in Chat because they know it will go.

I would like a bit more of an extension maybe to 6 months?
