Probably too late now for today? But next year?

Please?

What does it mean exactly when websites use the poppy on their homepage? Have they made a donation that allows them to do this?

JeremyVile · 11/11/2011 10:15

Bit gimmicky and meaningless imo.

(not the whole pooy thing obv, but companies adding it to their logo)

JeremyVile · 11/11/2011 10:15

*poppy, not pooy Hmm

GypsyMoth · 11/11/2011 10:17

And also, its a contentious topic (whether it should be or not, doesnt matter, it is) As you well know ILT, being on one such thread currently Wink

JeremyVile · 11/11/2011 10:19

Snowmen arent contentious.

piprabbit · 11/11/2011 10:20

Perhaps a poppy icon instead - so that individual users can choose to add it to their posts for the day.

CalatalieSisters · 11/11/2011 10:21

We could argue about whether they should be white snowmen or red snowmen.

GypsyMoth · 11/11/2011 10:21

If it's contentious on one thread... Doesn't mean it is on the other remembrance threads

OP posts:
belgo · 11/11/2011 10:27

how would poppy emoticons work? Would the poster donate for each one used?

JeremyVile · 11/11/2011 10:29

Oh god...this is going toward FB breast cancer crap teritory.

Why would we need a poppy icon? What would it actually do?

Its silly, superficial, meaningless twaddle.

piprabbit · 11/11/2011 10:29

Perhaps MNHQ could add a sticky for the duration requesting that people donate to the Royal Legion when using the poppy and providing the necessary links.
