Inspired by the 11 people who completed the first survey from this thread: Can we have a like button on every posters post an expanded survey of suggestions has been put together.

Anyone without a sense of humour is invited to click Hide this thread, frothing beserkers are invited to start their own thread in AIBU and the rest of you please click www.surveymonkey.com/s/MM3TBDD. You get one go at the survey.

Results will be published on Friday.

Not that the winner actually gets to be QOM, you understand Grin

punkinpie · 12/10/2011 13:29

She does, though. I'm a dorgi and I claim my place in the Royal Kennelhold.

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 13:29

There is literally one vote in it for Q1.

awesome survey

punkinpie · 12/10/2011 13:33

Surely you've got to consult the weekend users, though?

GetDerridaThePeskyLurkers · 12/10/2011 13:40

No no no

Weekend users?

That's like being a weekend human, or a weekend arsehole

You're either a MNer or you're not. You should be HERE if you don't want to miss stuff.

Double love

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 13:53

Closes Friday. I need my life survey monkey account back. It keeps freezing and crashing under the weight of all the bosoms.

GetDerridaThePeskyLurkers · 12/10/2011 13:53

Yes indeed why not a Love button.

That sounds euphemistic though...?

ColdSancerre · 12/10/2011 14:03

I've voted again from work

ColdSancerre, you're far too honest. It misses the point if you cheat and then TELL everyone Grin

Oh, I see, not being inclusive or anything, then. Wink

KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 14:11

Love button? You filthy buggers.

OP posts:
KatieMorticiaton · 12/10/2011 14:26

Not inclusive no. Some of the men are excluded because they don't have bosoms. And some of the old gimmers because they don't have teeth.

455 and counting. Just a handful of votes in it.

I have to go out now. Apparently the toddler can't survive on just crisps and back to back Pepper Pig Hmm

katiem.. please get your facts right. i am not a lurker!!!

unfortunately i get 'lost' in the barrage of competition to outwit, out shout or out smart, that seems to necessary to fully 'belong' to mumsnet.

you all talk a good talk of diversity and inclusion but find it hard to accept the fact that others have different thoughts and ideas to yourselves.

a trial is probably going to prove pointless, as already, those that are against, are closed mindedd enough to do all they can to ensure it fails, or beat those with differing views into submission.

all that i am stating, is that there are mumsnetters who do not wish to constantly be in the thick of it but would like a simple way to contribute.

lets not forget that appropriate debate and advice come out of the ability to listen and open your mind to other people's perspective.

abstainers or 'lurkers',a lthough obviously not high in your esteem, still remain, and are no less of an entity nor user than those who choose to enter fully into the debate.

ColdSancerre · 12/10/2011 14:51

There's nothing wrong with a good old lurk I say. I lurk a lot and don't feel ashamed. At all.

punkinpie · 12/10/2011 14:55

You think I lurk. I don't. I walk among you.

nightshade - what's the problem with getting lost in the general noise of MN? I've been on for 5 yrs or so - never changed my name because people don't tend to recognise me as I clearly am not particularly witty, abbraisive or anything similar.

And who is all this 'you' you speak of? I recognise some names and posters as I've been around a while - but that doesn't mean that they necessarily recognise me - or that we have the same point of view. Or that we regularly share threads. Or that we're part of a clique.

You made your point about the like button on your thread. I disagree with you - but you will have seen from my later posts on that thread (which you probably didn't notice because I blend into the back ground) that I have suggested one or two things and asked some pro-active questions of MN should a 'like' button be instated for a trial period.

This is a lighthearted thread. It doesn't poke fun at anyone that I've seen. Apart, perhaps, from a certain person with a piscean nickname. Please can we keep it that way?

If people want to take part its easy putting a simple one-liner as it is. No one's going to jump down anyone's throat with a one-liner comment (unless its outrageous)

'a trial is going to be pointless' - well, clearly you don't believe that any one on MN is capable of having an open mind about it and that the decision has been made by a relatively small group of people who don't want it. I don't think that's the way MN actually works. Probably the contributions on this thread from various MN staff might suggest that too. And they wouldn't be suggesting it on your thread if they decided it was a dead duck. Let MN do their trial if they want and see what the result is.

TheSkiingGardener · 12/10/2011 15:05

katiem - You're either a spectator or a participant, i.e. you're either in the game or out in the cold circles of the spectator stands getting drizzled on with a soggy hotdog and cold bovril.

It's much more fun in the game.

TheSkiingGardener · 12/10/2011 15:06

Buggeration. Not katim - nightshade

Blast - no chance of the Moldovan grog now.
