Can you block people?

I am new to Mumsnet and haven't had time to go through all the rules and regs yet, but does anyone know if we have the option to block people in a similar way to that of Facebook?

You can't at the moment but there is a growing tide of opinion that such an option would be a very good thing.

What difference does it make? The option is unavailable.
