Don't think so. Mobile version is fine though (for me at any rate).

Tortoise · 30/08/2011 09:21

Not yet. But mobile version is great. I'm using it now!

Flumptious · 30/08/2011 20:48

I have the mobile version, but I can;t work out how to refresh a thread when I'm reading it. I have to come out and in again. Am I being dense? My phone is a htc. Help please?

Tortoise · 30/08/2011 20:50

HTC here too and I haven't worked out how to refresh either. Quite annoying lol!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 30/08/2011 20:51

I am gettng HTC on thursday, first ever proper smart phone. Want app

Wormshuffler · 30/08/2011 20:51

I find on my htc that when i make the text bigger it jumps halfway up the thread, which is a pita when on long threads, i have to scroll all the way back down again.

SquongebobSparepants · 30/08/2011 20:52

No. There isn't even thought the iphone had one aaaaages ago

I don't LIKE the mobile site so don't use it on my phone. There I said it.

Flumptious · 30/08/2011 20:56

Worm, When you google mumsnet then get the home page up, right at the bottom on the left is a tiny thing saying mobile version. That works better for me than clicking the mobile format thing and you don't have to make the text bigger.

Flumptious · 30/08/2011 20:57

Oh, and thanks Tortoise and Worm, this is the first time anyone answered me in ages. Thought I was invisible.

PositiveAttitude · 30/08/2011 20:59

Yes, weren't we promised told we would have an android app soon after the iphone app??

Where is it, MNHQ???

Wormshuffler · 30/08/2011 21:00

Thanks flumptuious, i will have a go at that.

SquongebobSparepants · 30/08/2011 21:14

flumptious, I have no idea how to refresh a thread, I just use the normal site until it makes me cry with frustration....Grin

OliviaMumsnet · 30/08/2011 21:28

Flumptious · 30/08/2011 22:18

:o:o:o

PositiveAttitude · 31/08/2011 10:36

Thank you OliviaMumsnet. I will wait impatiently until the lucky buggers are back and then nag ask nicely again if it does not appear! Grin

LawrieMarlow · 31/08/2011 15:36

With my HTC phone I go back to the top of the thread and in the address bar part there are two curly arrows and when I click it refreshes the thread.

Flumptious · 31/08/2011 18:24

Oh my, you're right Lawrie.

I feel like I should have known that!

Thanks.

LawrieMarlow · 31/08/2011 18:38

I found it by trial and error (mostly error Grin)

NormaStanleyFletcher · 01/09/2011 21:55

I now have my android.

Where is my app

PositiveAttitude · 08/09/2011 21:03

HAve you all enjoyed your holidays at MNHQ?

Time to get back to work and sort out the android app now! Come on Get to it!!! Grin

stripeybump · 08/09/2011 21:06

Tbh the iPhone one is a bit crap - no page numbers on threads and resets itself when you minimise it. You can't jump to certain posts, even in threads I'm on. Mobile site is better, for now at least til they sort it out.

Just got a nice Android v2.2 mobile ( 70 quid at Asda !) but on the Refresh question I'm using the regular www... version so the button is at the bottom anyway... though an App might be nice one day!

Tortoise · 09/09/2011 10:32

Networkguy What phone is it if you don't mind me asking. DS2 has asked for an android phone for birthday.£70 sounds a good price!

NetworkGuy · 09/09/2011 16:50

It's the Vodafone 845 aka Vodafone Smart, and I've mostly used it on home wi-fi to be honest. I was surprised that it immediately allowed me to check my Google Mail without me getting a top-up - however my plan was not to use it primarily for "on the move" internet access, which can be costly on PAYG, but for voice and text (Asda PAYG SIM works fine, 6p per SMS, 10p/min to landlines and mobiles, compared with 12p and 20-50p using Orange etc PAYG to send SMS or call another mobile network).

Using it in the house for checking mail when not near a computer, some games, and the apps for Ebay, E-mail, etc. I will probably call Asda's customer service (staff working for Vodafone anyway) and see if I can get the details for using it for the web, just for times when I want something while away from the house... eg the mapping function, as Google Maps works with the in-built GPS (sat nav positioning).

Battery life seems a bit limited but then again I have bluetooth on, as well as a variety of background things running. I think Argos has it with 2 GB microSD memory card in the box, at 75 quid (+ tenner mandatory top-up). Possibly worth checking Vodafone coverage where you are, first, and then the 'Freebee' options to see if there's one with text + web access that may suit DS2.

An android app?

What a spiffy idea!

[will never work on commute again, hooray!]

Any info on this, MNGQ? is it being developed? Discussed? Forgotten forever?
