I don't like the app

i can't jump to ends of threads. I don't want to press 'next' numerous times to get to the end

You can press the + button and flip to the end of the thread and read it from most recent first.
I know what you mean though, lots of scrolling on the phone but seems unavoidable on a small screen.

it's easier just looking at the regular site via a browser

I don't have the app - am on an iPad, but I do have to scroll scroll scroll too. But if you tap on 'Add message' it takes you to the bottom of a thread.

There's a + sign on the top right of the screen- gives various options like flip thread, add message etc. I'm starting to get used to it now, the app does have some advantages.
