Hi again Mars - apologies for the delay. Here's a bit more info on the project which we think should start to kick off in the next few weeks.
M(ums) Power is a collaborative project between many partners including University College London, Mumsnet, Camden Social Enterprise, North Central London NHS and Microsoft. It is being funded by the Health Foundation and is looking at antenatal care provision. We understand how important antenatal care is, and what an exciting and scary time this can be. We aim to find a way to improve the experience of both mums and clinicians in the antenatal period, and improve the care that is provided. We are very keen that we don?t start off thinking we know what is best, or how we will achieve this, so in order to be able to improve care, we have started to speak to women and clinicians (midwives, obstetricians and GPs) to find out what is working well about antenatal care, and what could be improved.
We have run a couple of workshops so far, which have given us lots to think about, but we realise that not everyone is able to get to these in person. We are setting up a project Blog and email address and will be asking Mumsnetters (not just those based in North Central London) for their views and experiences so please keep an eye out for this happening soon.
