I would like to suggest a new 'sub topic' on MN.

Have noticed very personal questions that lead to cries of TROLL TROLL and general piss taking and why post a question like that etc etc

Well, for a lot of people, there are things that trouble them that they would be mortified to even try to discuss with rl friends, yet they know they would like to talk with someone. The internet is a wonderful resource, but also it is good to have the opportunity to say - what about this then, is this normal? and get info/advice/support from a bunch of people who don't know you and you don't have to face! so you can talk about those things that worry you anonymously and know they aren't going to discuss it with your other mates!!!

But a lot of people seem to get wound up and go onto such threads to take the piss or to cry troll, or even to say the poster shouldn't have started the thread so wouldn't it be great to have a section called, I don't know, Personal, or something, so everybody knows what kind of advice is likely to be needed and those who dont want to participate in such threads can just not peruse that section!

ssd-we are talking about many threads which innocent people have started for advice and who have then been shot down in flames by people who aren't interested in the subject matter or think it is too trivial to talk about but who can't resist the need to post unhelpful,sarcastic comments.

BTW-missed the vagina pong thread! Think I would have probably been pissing myself laughing too much to post anything constructive.Just T.M.I,imo!

Yes, Dropintheit probably was an honest thread (the pong onebut it wasn't titled pong---that is what I titled mine based on input from another brilliant poster), but I just got so tickled about it that I got carried away and not only did a piss-take, but I started two additional and quite hysterical threads to follow it up. Very childish indeed.

I don't think it would make a blind bit of difference tbh. If it's in Active conversations, there will still be cries of "troll! troll!" and if it isn't in active conversations then no one will post on it. Which kind of defeats the whole purpose of posting it.
