MNHQ could you close thisthread down? It's horrific.
I know you have a policy about MN being a place where Mums come for support and I really do think that this thread goes very much against that.

I think if the OP wants it closed down, then fair enough. Other people have the option to not read it/comment. This has been my approach. It's not a nice thread but I don't agree with censorship unless a law has been broken.

I know karma....and that's generally my approach too. I am just thinking of all the furore over other threads and the protection of individuals there - even worse things have been said on this one.

I see your point and not having read past the first page I take your word that things are getting nasty over there. I do feel sorry for any innocent person who is getting horrible things said about them. That said, grown adults have to be responsible for what comes out of their own mouths and have to live with the fallout. If they are being libellous then MN would be right to pull it. If not, then I think it would be better if people simply refused to post on the thread as a show of disgust at the content.

We've read through that thread now and deleted quite a number of personal attacks - as personal attacks are against our Talk Guidelines

We can see that the thread has now moved to become a more general discussion about abusive relationships, so we're inclined to leaving it running for now.

But do please report it to us again if you notice things going in a bunfight direction again.

Oh, and fyi, reporting a post to us is usually the quickest way to alert us to a thread. We do try to keep an eye on Site Stuff but sometimes not quite as often as we'd like
