you know where it says "your search has unearthed over 6 squillion messages, you may wish to refine it"....would there be the faintest chance of a link back to your original search in order that it can be refined?

In days of yore if you pressed the back button on the browser it would take you back to the search page with all your info still there, but now you get a "webpage has expired" and have to start over again...tis a bit annoying

Hello, weeproblem.

The back button still works for us

Could you bear to have another go and let us know if you're still getting "webpage has expired"?

NetworkGuy · 13/05/2011 12:50

Which browser and version do you use weeproblem, and on what system (Mac, Windows XP, Vista, 7, or Linux version) ? Just that there might be some problem only with the one you use...

I was disconnected earlier and "back" worked OK (using Windows XP and some version - perhaps v3.15 or 3.16, of Firefox) but obviously no help for you if your browser didn't (and in my case I had been entering a message to post, not doing a search... some web pages may load extra javascript and 'empty' the boxes that you type into... probably not the case on MN but some web forms on other sites do that sort of thing..

PurpleLostPrincess · 13/05/2011 13:17

Mine does it too, has for ages...

For those with the problem, which browser are you using? For example, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc. To find the version, you can find it in the "About [Browser]" section, usually under Help on Windows.

catinthehat2 · 13/05/2011 15:00

both IE 8 & IE9

weeproblem · 14/05/2011 16:00

thanks for the replies...am using IE7. Will see if it's still happening in a mo :)

yup, still doing it.

If I click refresh, I then get the message about needing to resend the info. If I OK that, then it goes back to the empty search page.

I've installed firefox, and not only is working as before.....ie no expired page notice....my internet browsing experience has gone from dead slow to super fast. Need to be less scared of upgrades and new things!
