Links - question about affiliate stuff

I am not techy but I have a question about links

Some links in threads redirect via other urls eg linksynergy or altfarm.mediaplex etc - is this because MN is getting affiliate commission or is it the poster getting commission?

MN has been using some script which redirects links when possible... In some instances it (the intermediate site, whose name I cannot remember right now) goes slow or fails to be found and people can get confused. I don't know if MN has changed its methods of linking but if you see something looking like it is an affiliate link, it is most likely to assist MN with running costs.

have just remembered the service that MN has been using... redirectingat.com also known (or previously known?) as skimlinks.com

Hello, EldonAve. Sorry you've had to wait so long for a reply from us. And yes, NetworkGuy is right - we do have some scripts that redirect links under an affiliate arrangement. Hopefully, that shouldn't slow anything down, though, or be too obtrusive - do let us know if that's not the case...
