I just cannot use the new "search" properly

Can anyone please explain how it works? I seem to have to type my search twice to actually have a result and it is not a google page like it ised to when selectin "search" and then "google".

Why has the perfectly working previous "search" been changed it seems to be harder now than it used to be. Is it just me?

Same here.
Couldn't be arsed to work it out in the end, and went straight to google and put the thread I was looking for in followed by mumsnet, which worked.

the previous search used to drive me nuts because it just used to give random answers not relevant in the slightest to what I searched for.

However, I just searched this morning, and like you, had to type it in twice. The result was spot on!!!!!

but I want things to go fast and typing in twice the same search makes me loose valuable MN time!
