That fucking bar keeps coming back every two minutes

and it slows the whole site down for me, and I have to keep moving the screen across because the x keeps vanishing. You have the same stuff at the top of the page anyway so why is that stupid drop down bar still there? It's style over substance, completely pointless, really annoying and it is affecting my MNing!

i'm learning to ignore it. while hoping the techs are hard at work over this beautiflully sunny weekend making the smilies have crowns for me instead of deleting the somewhat anmoying droppy down nonsence at the top.

You can hide the bar by going into Customise and changing the "hide viewport bar" option (right at the bottom).

Ah, thanks for the hiding tip. It was driving me a bit barmy too, but most shockingly, I was worried I was no longer going to be able to MN at work all day when it's quiet.

My dh hides a mini toolkit in the secret compartment of his saddle. He fiddles with things that don't need fiddling with too. Must be a type.

But, the bar is enticing you to log out. Is that not a sign? The Real world is calling, or asking you to go to facebook, or twitter, or your email, or to blardy start printing so you can read it later, off line. It is a message, I am telling, you a message, to just go on and LOG OUT!

Oh thank god for that, that horrible moving thing is now gone!

I've stopped noticing it actually, don't mind it at all now. Pretty pointless for me, however, as I never log out, facebook, twitter, email or print anything from here at all.

Also: the Inbox which appears next to log out at the top of the page normally, is not replicated on the drop bar. If there was anything at all I might like access to, this would be it.
