Search results, clicking back to return to search results failing....

I do a search, get a list of results and then click on one to open that discussion and have a look.
Previously, clicking browser 'back' button would take me back to the page of search results, and I could merrily go back and forth working my way through the results for my search.
Now it doesn't and I get a page expired message, so I have to start the whole search again.
This is for a normal search, not an advanced one.
I'm on a PC using IE8.
Is there a setting I have unwittingly changed? or have you had a new release for your search engine?

Also, I have, in the past performed successful searchs for the abbreviation "TVT". (don't ask!!Blush), yet now searching for this returns the following error:

An error occurred performing the search.
$searchtype.size() discussions.

I tried a couple of other abbreviations eg. "PCT" and they seem to work fine. Yet for some reason the particular one I am interested in doesn't!!??

thanks.

Back Hasn't worked properly for months for me, reported but yet to be fixed - try opening thread in a new window by right clicking.

ahh, you too then LIZS . There must have been an update to search engine or something a while back that has gone and "broken" some old functionality. Annoying!

thanks for workaround, that'll do me for now.

Back had never worked for me and drives me NUTS!

I keep hoping it's one of those things they are working on!

Along with fixing the bold/italics problems!

Funnily after I posted it has worked when you go into one of the listed threads and then back to the list , but not to Search itself
