When I'm on threads Im On and click on a poster's name it used to take me to that specific post

It doesn't any more - moves me further down the thread, and is very disorientating.
I've noticed it on IE6 and 8

Mine still goes to that poster. I'm on Chrome.

We can't replicate this I'm afraid, it seems to work fine on both IE 6 and IE 8. Perhaps you're scrolling the page before it's finished loading? It could also be something on your machine altering the way the browser works.

Do you know what it's not doing it now - so just at work, on IE6 (though you say you have tested it so prob not)
Definitely not scrolling - thought that was it the first few times so kept my hands well away, and it;s a PC with a mouse and keyboard so no sticky mousepads
What sort of thing on my machine could alter the browser?
Anyway, not bothered if it's not doing it on my home machine as that the MN machine :o but I could have sworn it was!

If it's a work copy of IE6 then it could be anything really. We do our testing on fresh installation copies, anything after that is a bit beyond our remit really. Sorry to not be of more help, IE 6 is a very old and quirky browser, so you get problems like this sometimes. At least it's working at your home PC. :)
