Time of posting - threads i'm on vs thread....

Why in Threads I'm on does it say

PosterName: Date: 5.15 pm

but on the thread it will be 17.15

It doesn't matter a jot but i wondered why it was different?

There is obviously a 12hourTech and a 24hourTech.
