time out whilst writing private message

Is it possible to add an option to log back in if you time out whilst writing a private message? I just did exactly that. Fortunately I was able to copy the text before going off and logging in again (which is better than some sites I've used that loose everything for you), but would it not be possible to have a log in option on the page where the new message is written?

Hi Tangle,

Anything you write in the message box is not sent to the server until you press the send button, so there's not really an easy way of saving it on our side, I'm afraid.

If you're using Firefox, Chrome or Safari, I'd recommend downloading Lazarus form recovery, a truly excellent add-on that has saved me a huge amount of hassle, and also keeps your forms much more private than an auto-save would. Wink

How about just a 'save draft' option ?

I was also wondering about a 'preview' button as sometimes one might try inserting a link and want to test it.

Currently I go off to somewhere and make as if to create a new thread, check the preview, and make edits until message looks OK, and then paste back into the Private Message box, and delete the 'new thread' tab, but if I ever get it wrong, it could be embarrassing to post a public message where the plan was for a PM...

OK, it would show me up, rather than actually be "embarrassing", but only 'cos I could not delete the new thread (which would not normally be the case with other forum software).
