mine still works, but not every time, also I chose to block the pinned messages and that only happens every about 1 in 10 times I click.
The last message I read however was hi-lited? Confused

I hate the green, for sure MNHQ, but at least it worked!

Maybe they are removing the green for something a little less painful...

Hopefully it's just undergoing a slight colour change and they are doing it at the same time they give us a nice pale pink for our own posts and an eye rolling emoticon.
