Some numbers I would really like to know.

How many posts do you get in a day, and my how many different posters?

Are 5% of people who post in a day responsible for over 50% of that day's posts?

I would find it really interesting.

Also if you have, say, 1,000 different people posting in a day, how many different people do you have in a week? Is it 3,000 (so most people don't post every day) or is it more like 1,200?

You might want to see peanutbutterkid's thread here.

Justine is talking at a conference this week on the matter of getting a site to pay, and the blurb said 250,000 posts per week.

Some time back I saw some website which monitored websites to judge how active they were and had a top 10 posters. Some posters exceeded 500 posts a week (but there was no quality vs quantity check, so if there was some spelling game in _chat or a 'nonsense' thread on a friday night, it may have been that 50 to 100 posts were on a single thread and could skew all sorts of other measuring.

Good luck with getting figures - I doubt there will be a release of such info 'anytime soon' - but happy to be proved wrong by MNHQ.

Oh, I doubt they'll tell us (for the confidentiality/commerical value reasons you said on the other thread), but it would be very interesting. The media will quote MN as having a gazillion bajillion members, but how many ever log in, how many post, how many only eneter the competitions, how many logged in once and then never again?

I remember the boardreader thingy that used to give top 10s. I made the top 10 posters one week (I was unemployed at the time).

I can find this but can't find the page I used to see

Yes, I remember looking there and posting about the people posting 500+ items in a week.

Still owned by same firm but they have changed site and no longer seem to do the same things :(
