Is it just me who finds the Channel Four advert really disturbing/upsetting?

It's displayed on Telly Addicts - not sure where else - I could really, really do without a distressed, labouring woman in my line of vision first thing in the morning, or frankly at any other time.

I imagine there may well be others who find it wholly unhelpful, particularly those suffering from sensitivity/trauma around childbirth or who may have recently lost a child through m/c or other.

Is there any chance they could just have a still of the happy blood covered bit at the end? At least she is smiling in that shot.

thanks.

Thanks for your post, CabbagefromaBaby. You mean the One Born Every Minute ad, don't you? Sorry that it's upsetting you.

Does anyone else feel the same?

CabbagefromaBaby · 18/01/2011 10:30

Looks like it's just me! Maybe it's only showing in telly addicts?

I don't think that board has v high traffic does it?

Anyway if it's awkward and no one else minds, I'm not worried if you leave it. I just thought if it bothers me and I don't have borth trauma issues etc etc. then it might well bother other users iyswim.

hopefully not though.
Thankyou for answering.

I can avoid telly addicts much of the time Smile

Sorry, I've caught up really late on this, perhaps because I didn't realise it was a Channel 4 advert - I'm sure if you post it with a different title more will respond. Anyway, I really don't like it at all, can I second that it's edited, I've been through labour 3 times without trauma, but I still don't want those images popping up.

really don't like it - although I didn't have a very traumatic time with DD.
can't watch the programme or the adverts.

ButterPieify · 24/01/2011 07:18

I actually came into site stuff to say exactly this. The TV ads ruin my day, I stop watching channel four when they are on.

In fact, I hope you don't mind OP, but I'll start a more obvious thread- I'm sure people agree with us.

I've just gone into Telly addicts to have a look, I don't find it disturbing at all.

You have two very quick shots of a labouring woman, then her baby is passed to her and shes smiling.

ButterPieify · 24/01/2011 07:28

Can you watch the programme itself without being upset though?

feedme · 24/01/2011 07:48

thanks Butter, I'll join you

WimpleOfTheBallet · 24/01/2011 08:00

I have to say that I don't like it...I have only seen it once but her face has stayed with me!

2shoes · 24/01/2011 12:52

bit late to this, but have to say it unnerves me(and nothing to do with traumatic birth that I had) it is just horrid.

ButterPieify · 27/01/2011 23:21

It just turned up in home ed :( I've been trying to avoid it.

Please, there must be a setting we can switch so we don't get it at least!
