Yuck, Mumsnet looks horrid on my iPad

Everything on active conversations appears to be underlined in bold? I am in MN Classic the black and white version, anything I can do that doesn't involve moving to MN New?

Thanks

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2010 08:58

yes, i do, it does look pretty good on the ipad though.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2010 09:04

sorry, i am no help whatsoever! Blush

Ewe · 21/11/2010 10:29

Thanks Fanjo, that is helpful! I am getting used to the bold underlining everywhere, I don't want new!!

I have musmnet classic but not b/w version and it's fine

RustyBear · 21/11/2010 10:44

Why don't you want new though? If you really don't like the underlining, why not switch to new, which doesn't have underlining and where you can bookmark your place on a thread.

I just went back to classic briefly to see what it was like - it looks revolting, so cramped and messy.

AnnoyingOrange · 21/11/2010 10:46

I really don't like new. I see it if I don't log in.

RustyBear · 21/11/2010 11:13

Nobody ever says why they don't like New though - on the actual threads it looks much the same (though I do actually prefer the Classic shade of blue in the post headers, pity we can't have that in New!)

So the only real difference is between the Classic cramped messy underlined hard to read Active Convos page and the New one which is nicely spaced with alternate blue & white backgrounds to the thread titles making them easy to distinguish- what's not to like?

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/11/2010 11:14

New is really good because you get the bookmarking feature. I was an avowed user of Classic, but you do get used to New very quickly.

AnnoyingOrange · 21/11/2010 11:17

I don't like pages

RustyBear · 21/11/2010 11:20

Neither do I, Annoying Orange, so I don't have them. You don't have to have pages in New.

AnnoyingOrange · 21/11/2010 14:22

oooh Rusty I might take another look then Smile

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/11/2010 16:13

She gets commission, you know, AnnoyingOrange!

MmeLindt · 21/11/2010 16:15

Where can you bookmark your place on a thread?

MN looks great on my iPad.

RustyBear · 21/11/2010 17:10

It's a bit weird on the iPad MmeLindt - you have to enable it in Customise first, then on a PC you just hover your mouse over the right hand side of a post and the bookmark link pops up for you to click, but on the iPad you have to touch a link in the post - one of the ones on the header bar will do - before the link pops up.

This has the side effect that once you've enabled bookmarks, links in a thread don't work at once, you have to keep your finger on them a bit longer.

Ewe · 21/11/2010 17:48

I like black and white, I think when new first arrived it was only available in colours. Maybe I will have another look around, when I am on a thread it's fine, only active convo page that's funny.

I am in "Mumsnet Sober Workplace" - no idea whether it's new or old!

It works! Thanks, Rusty.
