Why do I keep getting logged out when I close my browser?

It started this afternoon when all the extra inbox stuff was going on - I tried looking at MN on various browsers because I was -=-bored at work-- purely in the interests of research and every time I openened a new one I had to log in again, even though I kept ticking the 'keep me logged in' box.

Now I can stay logged on in Firefox and Safari on the iPad and on the mobile site on the iPhone (though that has gone to text only) but Chrome & IE log me out every time I close them.

This is annoying because Firefox doesn't like our Exchange email, which means I have to use IE at work, so I can quickly switch from MN to my emails if anyone comes in....

This is happening for me too. Ever since I logged into my special account for the Dolmio feedback - I assumed it was something to do with that.

I also use Firefox, but not via iPad or iPhone, just on the desktop.

It's now logging me out on Safari on the iPad

Sorry about that, folks.

Every time the Techs release a new code, we all have to log in again next time we want to post. And there were quite a few code releases today.

Should be all back to normal now, though?

i am Blush to admit that considering it is only 8am.

Its still a problem...

This morning I only had to login oncde on the iPad, but now I'm at work, it's not keeping me logged in on Internet Explorer.

Might just have to do some work.....

i think it's a ploy to keep me here all morning.

RustyBear · 12/11/2010 10:49

I think you're right, LogLady, it's even logging me out if I go to another tab in IE!
