It won't work in thread titles if that's what you are trying to do.

phipps · 05/11/2010 12:12

It is very strange as it hasn't been working and I have seen lots of words with either side Confused.

OP posts:

Hi phipps,

they seem to be working here

If you send me a link to where they aren't working, I will ask tech to take a look

tethersend · 05/11/2010 12:16

It only works if there is a space before them...

phipps, you're not going mad, I noticed on some thread someone had done the little ^ marks round the word but it didnt make it go all italicy. Cant remember which thread though.

phipps · 05/11/2010 12:18

Yes! Someone else has seen it Grin.

.full stop before
.full stop either side.
full stop afterwards.
no full stop

ShowOfHandsInEpistolaryForm · 05/11/2010 12:24

I see it a lot. But always assume it's something to do with punctuation/spaces surrounding the italics. Which seems to be the case.

EricNorthmansMistress · 05/11/2010 12:27

You used to be able to do this which was great but now it doesn't work.

anonymousbird · 05/11/2010 12:29

Oh it's complicated!

If in doubt, always preview your message.... saves a few Blush later on...

nickelbangBANGbang · 05/11/2010 12:53

"speechmarks"

GuyFawkesIsMyLoveSlave · 05/11/2010 13:51
