Might it be useful to have a new topic for current government policy?

I'm not complaining, just wondering if it might be useful to have a new section (it could even be temporary, like the Christmas one) to discuss the CB etc stuff. Threads are currently In the News, Politics and Chat, and I'm just wondering if it might be easier to see what's already out there if there was an obvious place for them all?

Yes, me too! I think I clearly understand this up and coming policy.Confused I also know they are trying to dig themselves out of a hole and it may change. This will not be an easy subject to thrash out with friends as everyone likes to keep their household incomes private in the UK. It might cause resentment amoung friends and in the work place. I know that tough times are ahead but to take the money from the Mother's hand and give it to the Father in Married man's allowance is going back to the dark ages. To punish a single Mother who has earned a good income! To assume that All High tax payers are fair to their partners and give them housekeeping.
On MN we should have a sensible discussion on how we would like our goverment to act on our behalf.
To put our head together as intelligent people and offer alternatives. Something has got to give. I just hope it's not my job as a public servant!
Right now I must get back to my housework and the fly thread! Grin

P.S I bet this is giving you a buzz at MNHQ something to get your teeth into Grin

What about just using politics?

I hate the tendancy to just stick stuff in AIBU

TeasingFireDragons · 06/10/2010 09:55

Oh yes please then i can hide it all.
All of it in one place and it can disappear.

Nuttybear · 06/10/2010 10:02

No not in politics. We need experts on tax and money solutions not mad politicians!!! Sensible people who work for a living and have good ideas!

StealthPolarBear · 06/10/2010 12:17

nymph, I agree politics is the obvious place, but a lot of the threads are to do with the new Con-LD stuff, and are just a bit more specialised than a politics thread.
That said, what else will be in there anyway at the moment? Hmm....
Maybe just a request to keep them all in politics rather than AIBU, IN the News and Chat (I am guilty of this last one)
Purely for my own benefit as I like to read them! (assuming I am still entitled to that benefit :o)

Perhaps 'Very, very, current affairs' in the news or in chat as there always seems to be lots of threads begun when something 'big' hits the news ...Baby P, CB ....

It would be good to have a 'hide 'em all' button
